PROVIDENCE MINISTRIES

Providence United Methodist Church believes the heart of God is evident in ministry to our community. From community-wide breakfasts to distributing backpacks of food for children in need, we share the love of Christ through active participation in sharing what we have with others.

You are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. –1 Corinthians 12:27

COMMUNITY & REGIONAL OUTREACH

FOOD MINISTRIES
"For I was hungry and you gave me food"

The Providence family is working hard to meet the needs of those with food insecurities in the Patrick/Henry County area.  Our food market includes two ministries that help meet those needs. Our "Fresh Loaves" ministry purchases fresh vegetables, meats, and breads for those who have had an immediate financial crisis.  Our food market provides nonperishable foods and hygiene products for those who have on-going needs.

ONLINE
SERMONS

Providence United Methodist Church records the Sunday Worship Service for those unable to attend church in-person. Sometimes we get it posted online, sometimes we do not, but we are trying! Click on the link below for available recordings:

PARTNERING WITH OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS

The Providence family appreciates the work our local elementary school is doing to nurture and care for the children of our community.  Our relationship with the local school incudes partnering in ministry through the Lunch Buddy program, the Backpack program, volunteering in the classroom, providing nap blankets, scarfs, gloves, and hats for Head Start children, and providing an appreciation meal for the entire staff of the local school.

GIRL SCOUTS

The Providence family is excited to be in partner relationship with the local Girl Scouts organization.  Girl Scout Troop 1302 will begin again on August 14 with a bridging ceremony.
