ABOUT PROVIDENCE

Providence United Methodist Church loves people and helps to change lives through living a life through Christ Jesus. Our church building is located in Patrick Springs, Virginia, near beautiful Bull Mountain in the Appalachians. Our church members are located both here and all over the globe—sharing the love of God wherever they are.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him...we love because He first loved us. –1 John 4: 9

OUR PASTOR
Providence in Patrick_Vernons.jpg

Pastor Keith Vernon continues his studies at Duke Divinity School in the Advanced Course of Study Program. As he begins his tenth year in pastoral ministry, it is evident that Pastor Keith has a great love for serving God and God's people in the United Methodist Church.

As he describes it, "My passion in life is helping people find the gift of God's grace in Jesus Christ."

He enjoys being outdoors experiencing the gift of God's creation of nature whenever possible particularly through his hobbies of farming, gardening, and fishing. Pastor Keith and his wife, Sara, have six children (four boys and two girls), two daughter-in-laws, and one grandchild.

The UMM's projects include a community-wide breakfast every first Saturday of the month, and ongoing community outreach through mission-minded projects.

UNITED METHODIST
YOUTH

The United Methodist Youth meet with other area churches during the year, work on various projects with the UMM and UMW, sow and harvest a community garden (canceled this year), and put on a Christmas Play every December. We will post a schedule after the social-distancing order is lifted for our next events!
